I heard a testimony from a prison inmate on Sunday while on an outreach. The very joyful young man said he thanked God for giving him a Christmas gift of a life sentence in the prison. According to him, he had been on death row for 10 tortuous years.
He had then prayed God to give him a Christmas present. Suddenly his case was reviewed and his death sentence was commuted to life term. “I’m glad I’m alive and now I’m no more waiting to be hanged. I have hope”, he said.
This Christmas may not be how you want it, because the year didn’t go how you planned it.
But hold on first.
Do you realize:
– life is a gift that can’t be bought?
– you may be hungry but you are not bedridden?
– the Christmas lights may be shinning in your neighbour’s house, but there are those who wish to just see the lights but have no eyes.
As a man, woman or parent, NO MATTER HOW IT IS WITH YOU, DON’T BE TOO HARD ON YOURSELF. Remember, SOMEONE WISHES TO BE YOU, EVEN NOW!
WHAT YOU DESPISE, ANOTHER DESIRES! For someone, life sentence is a Christmas gift!
Relax, THERE WILL BE ANOTHER CHRISTMAS!
Yes, YOU CAN!
